Dragon Princess #4 is an original mixed media illustration for a children's story that John was working on. John Alvin was an incredible and innovative artist. His great talent for visual story telling allowed him to develop an incredible body of work, thus working on projects for everyone. But John wanted to tell the story of his own heroes and heroines, so he decided to write and illustrate his own children's story. He had always loved dragons and so he began bringing the fantasy of a princess and her dragon to life. The illustration shows the princess, her companions and a young dragon at the edge of an overlook. It's as if they realize, as with John's undertaking for his story, that the adventure of a dream is about to begin.
