Two-Face Original and Limited Edition Art

Harvey "Two-Face" Dent is one of Batman's most dangerous villains and one of the most powerful criminals in Gotham City.   Before he became Two-Face, Dent was Gotham City's district-attorney, who regularly worked with Police Commissioner Gordon and Batman to deal with crime in the city. He was one of the first and most staunch supporters of Batman, even becoming friends with him. Dent was successful, powerful and popular as Gotham's district-attorney. However, underneath his perfect exterior, Dent suffered from repressed mental-illnesses including schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, which developed from his difficult early life.   Dent would suffer a breakdown after mob boss, Sal "Boss" Marconi, threw acid at Dent, horribly disfiguring the left half of his face and his left hand. In other continuities, Dent would be disfigured by an intense explosion/fire rather than acid. The resulting disfigurement would shatter Dent's psyche. He would become obsessed with duality and opposites and develope a second, dominant persona, which would become known as Two-Face. In some continuities, this persona has always existed but was repressed by Dent until the accident where it takes over.   Two-Face's most prominent criminal modus operandi is his obsession with twos, duality, opposites and chance. Many of his crimes involve the number 2 in some way, such as robbing the Gotham First Bank of 22 million dollars or threatening Gotham City with two deadly poisons. His obsession would also apply to his wardrobe, wearing suits that are a combination of two different fabrics and colors, oftentimes black and white. Two-Face's most important characteristic is his trademark two-headed coin. One side is clean while the other side is scarred and pitted, representing the two sides of Two-Face's personality. Two-Face regularly flips the coin to make any decisions, major or minor. The scarred side of the coin would usually result in a crime, while the clean side would allow Two-Face to do the right thing, such as restrain from murder or return his stolen loot.
