Ned Flanders Original and Limited Edition Art

Nedward "Ned" Flanders Jr. is the perennial next-door neighbor to the Simpsons. Ned is extremely religious but also a genuinely well-meaning and good-natured person. He throughly worships God and strictly follows the Bible as literally as possible, even "the stuff that contradicts the other stuff". Despite his youthful appearance, Ned is 60 years old. He attributes his appearance to "clean living, chewing throughly and a daily dose of vitamin church."   Ned is one of the very few people in Springfield that can be genuinely described as a good person. However, as a child, Ned was a terror. He was eventually taken to a psychiatrist where he was put through the University of Minnesota Spankological Protocol, where Ned was continually spanked, nonstop, for 8 months. The treatment worked so well that Ned found himself unable to express any anger at all and resulted in his nonsensical jabbering in any situation where he is close to losing his temper.   Ned owns the Leftorium, a store that sells a variety of items exclusively for left-handed people. Lucky for him, a large portion of Springfield's population is left-handed, so Ned's business is quite successful. He also own Flancrest Enterprises, an internet based company that sells religious hook rugs and door knockers. Ned had a wife, Maude Flanders, who died and has two sons, Rod and Todd. His wife and children were much like Ned: very polite, genuinely nice, if somewhat goody-goody, people. Ned gets along with the Simpsons, although Homer seems to both like and despise "Flanders".   Ned is very religious and sincere in carrying out the Christian doctrines of charity, kindness, and compassion to an almost ridiculous degree. However, Ned also embodies many of the intolerant aspects of the religious community, specifically Christians. He has shown occasional antipathy and even outright mockery and hostility towards other religions. Ned is a strong opponent against homosexuality and evolution. He also attempted to forcibly baptize Bart, Lisa and Maggie when he learned that they were never baptized. However, Ned remains a kind individual and has made it very clear that his actions are not out of malice, but of genuine concern given his beliefs.   Ned Flanders is a relatively minor character who occasionally has the spotlight, but is more often just in the background. However, Springfield wouldn't be Springfield without him.
