Death Eaters Original and Limited Edition Art
Originally known as the Knights of Walpurgus, the Death Eaters are an organization created by Lord Voldemort to take over the Ministry of Magic and place Voldemort as ruler. Initially consisting of primarily people Voldemort knew from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, their ranks swelled with other dark wizards and creatures. Ideologically, the Death Eaters sought to destroy Muggles and wizards and witches of Muggle lineage, and take over, and restore the wizarding world to pure-bloods. The Death Eaters idealised pure-bloods, which is ironic considering that their leader, Lord Voldemort, was a half-blood with a Muggle father. Their symbol was the Dark Mark, a massive skull with a snake slithering out of the mouth. Known Death Eaters include Lucius Malfoy, Draco Malfoy, Bellatrix Lestrange, Rodolphus Lestrange, Severus Snape, and Peter Pettigrew. Read More about Death Eaters
