Baloo Original and Limited Edition Art

Baloo is a fictional character featured in Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book from 1894 and The Second Jungle Book from 1895. Baloo, a sloth bear, and Bagheera, a panther, save Mowgli from Shere Khan the tiger and endeavor to teach the young boy the Law of the Jungle in many of the stories of the Jungle Book.   When young Mowgli discovers Baloo, the jovial, laid-back bear decides to teach the man-cub the joys of living a carefree life and chooses to raise Mowgli himself. Although not the smartest or toughest creature living in the jungle, Baloo does care deeply about Mowgli, rescuing him from a gang of monkeys as well as the dangerous Shere Khan.
