Mark Davies

Mark Davies breathes new life into your favorite stories by providing let you cannot find in the darkness and shining darkness into the light.

Born in Bedford in 1978, and raised in the east of England, Mark Davies has held a lifelong fascination with telling stories.  Inspired by the eloquence of Hans Christian Andersen and ingenuity of the Grimm Brothers, Davies studied fine art in Cambridgeshire before embarking on a career as one of the region’s most successful graphic designers during his formative working years.

Drawing influences from the works and lives of Piero Della Francesca, Giuseppe Arcimboldo, and Salvador Dali, the thriving enthusiasm towards Mark's artwork and his increased notoriety led to him becoming a full-time artist and signing with Wishbone publishing in 2014.

Known for strong narrative used to striking visual imagery, Marks emotive, fulfilling and enrapturing works led to his now signature ‘storyteller’ collection in 2015.

From Mark:

'My work reflects my thoughts and emotions, those influenced by life experience and those that form my character. You won't find a collection unified by style or subject, my work represents the full spectrum of emotions, from deep-rooted frustration and sadness, passion and eccentricity.

I do love to take an object or pieces of that object and transform it into something completely different but one where there exists a similarity or strong meaning. I enjoy creating a piece that on the first glance looks fun but then if you look again you get the underlying sentiment or concept. My digital art is all about getting to know me after so many years of creating for others, it is so incredibly exciting and the work you see on this gallery site is the start of a new chapter whilst also making a promise to myself to not forget about the pencil and brush!'
